El Norte kicked in

As it happens time to time, El Norte kicked in this morning with a bit gusty but still strong wind (averaging over 20 knots). North wind was building up some waves little by little. I couldn’t get out to the secret spot, but right after lunch some fun sized waves were already peeling in front of our resort. I took some 76 liters Mistral, put in already delaminated fin, fixed a 5.2 NorthWave sail and went to join Steve, who was catching some sets already. Sometimes I was fully overpowered, but sometimes had to wait for a gust. I was lucky to catch some sets and tried to remind myself what is waveriding all about. Something was good, something went wrong, somebody went to have a beer… Oh, right – I haven’t written yet, Corona costs here arround 63 US cents…

In the meantime Steve was really emotional. I was giggling while watching pictures that Aiste took and it was really fun to follow the mood change on the same wave.

Time for a beer and tomorrow… Maybe to the secret spot?
