Nida

While Girmantas is making hot movies from hot Brazil, we are not cold or bored in Lithuanian winter either. Week ago Snowkiting Grand Prix took place in Lithuanian snowkiting paradise Nida.  Curonian lagoon there forms a perfect setup for winter (and off course summer) sports with the wind of East directions.

This time (as always) Nida presented itself in a best way. It seems that it is a magic place where the sun is always shining and smiles seems to be stuck on peoples’ faces. This time it was cold, however, sun and smile combination still created the perfect atmosphere.

Snow was quite thin on the lagoon and that created pretty tricky conditions for kiters. Ice made the board unstable and it was hard for them to hold the edge as well as to go upwind.

According to the upcoming weather forecast and the fact that ice in Nida is already too thin, it seems that that was the last competition this year. It is a pity that winter has ended so quickly, however, new season – spring – is already here. See you all in the spot ;)
