La Ventana Classic

La Ventana Classic has ended few days ago, so all village suddenly became quiet and relaxed as usual. Weather conditions were perfect, thus all the main activities were successful. Island crossing, course racing, Big Air – Old skool contest, SUP crossing and many other activities helped to fundraise more than 18.000 USD for local schools.

All this week I was watching the event through the photo camera. Still I have to give my respects for event organizer Tim. This man really knows what he is doing and does it perfectly.

For me as a photographer the biggest challenge was to capture island crossing. I have visited Isla Cerralvo few times before, still it was a new place where I had to quickly invent new angles and adjust to circumstances. But hey! That’s what all the photographers do, right :) Nonetheless, the power boat drive back with it’s full speed and still lagging behind the leaders was a wonderful experience. My compliments to the winners – they are super fast. Sean, Shawn, Damian and Marie made 10 miles faster than 25 minutes.

However, my professional joy, my photographers dream, my best experience was Old Skool Competition. My camera was alive. Again my compliments go to Shawn Richman – RRD team rider – he is a real camera hero. It was so easy to work with him even in the final when the wind died totally. Congrats for Shawn – 1st place Old Skool, 2nd place Crossing and 3rd Course racing!

So further you can find the result of my work. Hope you’ll enjoy it.
