Baja ’16

Girmantas | Surfing, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing | February 15, 2016

Fall in the southern hemisphere starts around March-April, thus creating huge low-pressure systems in the south Pacific ocean. And waves travel more than 10.000 km just to reach Baja in long period, clean swell and most importantly – with no one to ride it. For the fifth time and third year in a row Spotas goes to Baja. And you might as well join the trip of a lifetime! Road trip through the desert, fishing in the richest seas, Mexican cuisine and waves, perfect waves!

Forecast: Sine it’s a second El Niño in a row, it is fair to assume that conditions will be closer to 2015 – slightly less wind, more surf.

Recommendation: Main sail – 5.3, main board ±85 ltr (depending on rider weight). Main kite 9-10, second kite 6-7. Surfboards – all the way from shortboards to step-up and mini-guns. 7’6-8’0 longboards are with the truck so there’s no need to bring your own.
