Back on freestyle track

When I became Lithuanian freestyle champion almost four years ago, I was dedicating the most of my windsurfing for this discipline. At that time, there was only a few guys doing freestyle in Baltics. However, since i started to feel comfortably in the sea – I was trying to spend more time in the waves and finally sold all of my freestyle gear.
My travels brought me to Brazil. Country famous for its warm climate, strong winds and of course girls! The only missing part here is wavesailing… Since I’m running a ClubVentos school in Icaraizinho for half a year – thats a good chance to remind myself some of the freestyle tricks and learn something new!
For quite some time I had 84 Thruster as my biggest board. First ride on 100 liters freestyle was a bit strange since I haven’t felt this much of floatation since 2008. But together with great flatwater pool it allowed me to remind myself flakas, spock’s, 540′s and so on. Also I must admit, that kitesurfing during the winter gave me great switch stance. I can easily ride in harness, go upwind and started to learn some tricks.
So I am sailing here for two weeks everyday. New tricks are coming to my mind. I’ve started to learn ponch, shaka, eslider, puneta and so on… So for an cause of experiment lets count that today I can do (at least 3 out of 5) vulcan, spock (one handed, 540, OH 540), flaka and speedloop. Look forward to see my artillery in January!
